February Newsletter

I may have missed my January update for you, but it wasn’t because of lack of shareable news. There’s been quite the flurry in Calgary; and I don’t just mean the weather!

The market has been straight up crazy the last few weeks; a flurry of buyers driven by low interest rates and a very limited active listing supply. The result, A busy & fast paced market we haven’t seen in many years. January sales were the highest they have been for the month since 2014 (40.6% year to date)! It’s hard to say if this is here to stay or if we will see an increased volume of new listings come spring to balance the market, but one thing is certain. If you have been on the fence on whether to list your home or not, the time could be right now! Make sure to check out any of my recent social media platforms for info on some of the specific homes my team has active buyers looking for today.
We would love to make a match!

Also Happy LOVE Day everyone, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’ve rounded up some ideas for you last minute celebrators. Have fun, and enjoy!

December Newsletter

Happy December!
Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy 2021. Of course the holidays are looking a bit different this year, and while it’s unfortunate many of us will not be celebrating the festivities with extended family, we must make the most of it! Christmas is never cancelled, and nothing can dull its true meaning. Make new memories with the people in your household, have a cheers over Facetime with others and watch a classic holiday movie.

We are in this together, and will get through it together.

You know where to reach me, I’m available anytime…
See you in 2021!

November Newsletter

And just like that, 2020 is almost over.

Who else is counting down the days until Christmas? It’s right around the corner, as is the official end of 2020. What a year!

Lets sum up 2020: tumultuous, difficult, unpredictable. But I also think it was a year of transformation, enlightenment, creativity and family. I am all for making the last 2 months of the year ones to remember for the good, so get out those boxes of Christmas decor, pop in that Michael Bublé CD, pour yourselves a beverage of choice, and let’s get into the holiday spirit.

But first, get out those snow-blowers, shovels and puffy coats… winter has arrived!

Wishing you a safe and happy month.

October Newsletter

Happy Fall and Happy Thanksgiving…

Man, have we been spoiled this year with such a beautiful autumn season! I love this time of year. Sure, it’s a changing of seasons and a gradual adjustment to the colder months ahead, but it’s also the season of letting go, giving thanks and transformation.

It’s also a great time to consider buying or selling if you’ve been on the fence this summer. Activity is picking up, and 2020 has been the best year yet for our brokerage, Charles. Listing in the fall is beneficial for many reasons: more serious buyers are in the market place and inventory levels tend to decrease leading into the holidays. More interested buyers + low inventory = less time for buyers to be on the fence.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving weekend. Stay safe!

September Newsletter

And just like that, it’s fall…

Wishing you all a very happy start to your September and an as-easy-as-it-can-be back to school for all you parents. Is it just me, or does it seem like we went to bed in summer and woke up the next morning to fall? It seems the transition always gets quicker each year but it’s something we should be used to by now.

We’ve been seeing a very active real estate market the past few weeks, and I think it may be a telling sign of the months to come. Although location, price point and marketing strategy are the defining factors in any sale, it’s also important to consider timing. If you are in the market to buy or sell, it’s a great time to consider doing so just before the holidays.

You know where to reach me, I’m available anytime…

See you in October!

August Newsletter

I am very grateful to live in 2020.

I bet you just did a double take! But seriously. I am.

We’re at the forefront of technology with our business. The ability to do more meetings remotely through Zoom or Facetime and to offer 3D virtual tours and professional video to help market our clients homes has been extremely important during this time of uncertainty. When we started using video and social media platforms to market our clients homes a few years ago, it was because we wanted to make sure we were doing everything possible to service our clients and market their homes at the highest level. But now considering the times, it’s become a necessity.

We are sure happy we invested into these lines of marketing when we did as it’s become a huge piece of our success through the pandemic and will continue to be.

As the market seems to have opened up and activity has risen, we have continued to invest into these marketing channels and its really been paying off.

Here’s to a great rest of the month. See you in September!

June Newsletter

I understand that I will never understand
The past few weeks… the past few months. So many emotions, so many thoughts, so much pain and fear.  It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure how to make a difference. But the thing that isn’t easy, is the everyday struggle people of colour around the world go through. The magnitude and severity of their treatment has opened the entire world’s eyes, including my own.

My life has always been led by the golden rule, “do to others what you would have them do to you”, and I teach my girls that kindness is the most important thing of all. I realize things like this are not enough and that we must come together to not only fight racism, but to actively fight against all forms of discrimination and prejudice. I have included a non-exhaustive list of ways to support the black community down below.

I understand that I will never understand, but I will keep learning, listening and doing my part.

A new month lays ahead, let’s make it count ❤️

May Newsletter

Local Love I wish we could go to one of our fav local restaurants for dinner this week! I know I’m not the only one who definitely took that for granted my whole life. But I am still holding on to the belief that this won’t last forever, and we will all come out better.
Slower mindsets, better conversations, more meaningful relationships and a better understanding of mental health. I hope we can all come out of this with a greater respect for Mother Nature, and a greater sense of gratitude for our lives once things get back to ‘the new normal’. There are still lots of ways you can support all of our local shops out there. Gift Cards, curb-side pick ups, online orders etc. 

Now that the weather is warming up, it’s easier to spend time at home with all the spring clean-up on the horizon. Soak in those rays and get that vitamin D!

Stay safe out there friends and try and keep smiling ❤️

April Newsletter

• D I G I T A L W O R L D •

I’ve never had so many ZOOM, FaceTime, or House Party meetings in my life! But hey, it’s 2020 and thank goodness we have all this technology to not only help in these times, but make it almost seamless to interact and communicate.

We’re into April, and although the end to COVID-19 concerns is not near, we’re getting used to working from home, cooking/baking at home, and spending much more time together as a family. Although there are some stresses with making it all work, I think it’s important to try and embrace the “new normal” for now and embrace the forced “slow down” upon us. I know over the last few weeks I have definitely had time to appreciate the little things a whole lot more.

As far as the Real Estate front, we are continuing to market and service our clients at a very high level through these times. With technology on our side, I have seen some great success with VIRTUAL TOURS and video that continue to support us in helping market our clients homes at a very high level. Thinking about real estate in 2020 and want to chat it out? Reach out!

See you in May!

March Newsletter

We’re almost mid-way through March!
It’s been an intense couple weeks for our city and all of Canada for that matter. The global price war around oil prices and the COVID-19 virus are causing a significant world wide impact.

Uneasy times for a lot of Calgarians on what this will mean in the short term but also long term in our city. It may be too early to tell what kind of market impact is in store, but with everything that happens there will be some challenging decisions along with arising opportunity. From the COVID-19 side, our leadership group at Charles Real Estate has communicated and planned ongoing precautions in order to keep our clients and our agents safe as we continue to provide a high level of marketing and service. And as always, we will keep our pulse on direction from our cities health board.

Real Estate activity has been increasing over the first few months of the year and we are planning on having an active spring.
If you’re planning on making a move in the coming months and want to chat about your plan or if you just want to stay informed on how the market is going week to week, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always here to chat!

Happy (early) Spring,  and we’ll see you in April!

Cheers,
